The Green for Kids program combines gardening and environmental sustainability education in order to get kids green. Our programs provide interactive lessons on sustainability, food waste, and gardening to empower students and schools to protect our planet for generations to come.
From implementing hydroponic Tower Gardens to partnering with Edible Schoolyard gardens, WITS brings the school garden experience into classrooms and cafeterias with hands-on, experiential learning.
We believe that children who are connected to their environment will become aware of the impact of their choices on the world around them. By digging into gardening lessons, kids learn more about the origin of produce and the nutrition that helps keep them strong. With concepts like sustainability, recycling, and food waste, kids learn about creating healthy, balanced relationships with themselves and the world. Our goal is to help the next generation be eco-friendly and to love the power of plants and greens as fuel and friends.
