CookCamp is an intensive, up-front training for school cooks. CookCamp works on a district level and includes hands-on follow-up training and ongoing network support.
During CookCamp, school cooks engage in workshops to better understand the why of the work that we do together to feed kids delicious and real food. In addition, they hone critical techniques to preparing meals from scratch, such as: basic cooking techniques and timing, mise en place and prioritizing, menu planning, batch prepping, knife skills, and storage and organization. The intensive training is not complete without daily FIT BITS and demonstrations of WITS Labs & WITS BITS, modeling the lessons we teach to children.
