We are excited to share that chef partner, Grace Ramirez will be joining Wellness in the Schools at PS 133 in East Harlem this year. Born in Miami and raised in Venezuela, Chef Grace Ramirez moved to New York in her twenties. Chef Grace got her big break on culinary television at Throwdown for Bobby Flay and was a contestant on MasterChef. Soon after finishing a full scholarship at the French Culinary Institute in New York City, Chef Grace headed to New Zealand where she discovered her passion for teaching children how to grow, harvest, prepare, and share food at a Garden to Table program. She saw first-hand how kids were craving broccoli and kale while getting their parents excited about it at home too. Chef Grace says, “We have an epidemic and we must help change kid’s relationship with food. There is a lot to be done locally and as a chef it’s my responsibility to make a difference.” Her award-winning cookbook, La Latina, walks you through her mouthwatering dishes of Latin America making it accessible for everyone to eat! A portion of the sales will be donated to Wellness in the Schools.
