The WITS Green for Kids environmental program works in partnership with local agencies and organizations concerned with environmental efforts in public schools. Green for Kids was our founding program, originally launched in partnership with the New York City Department of Education in 2006, and later incorporated into an organizational ethos after legislation was passed in NYC protecting children from toxic chemical use in schools. In Green for Kids, WITS promotes bio-based, effective cleaning products that are not harmful to children or the environment. Additionally, WITS supports school efforts to become more sustainable through energy reduction, the elimination of Styrofoam in the lunchroom, recycling, and composting programs.
